Apex Resources Limited; was incorporated in Tanzania in 2015. The company started to look for mining opportunities in the country since its inception, before settling at Itumbi village, which during colonial times was known as Ntumbi.
Apex Resources Limited is a joint venture company between Apex Minerals and Resources Limited, a company registered in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and Kilindu, Giattas, and Partners, a Tanzanian registered company.
Gold mining in this area started during the British colonial era, where it is reported gold was first produced in 1936.
In December 2017, Apex Resources Limited, commissioned a gravity gold concentration plant at Itumbi village. The plant has been operational since September 2018 on a transitional basis under the auspices of the Ministry of Mines while awaiting for licensing procedures.
Apex Resources Limited processes gold ore acquired from its locally owned sister concern Xepa Resources Ltd which has numerous gold mining licenses in Itumbi village.
